Tuesday Bassen

15 Apr

Tuesday Bassen is a Minneapolis, MN-based designer and illustrator, who’s very close to earning her BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). Her style is very unique, yet seems familiar. It’s like a Yo Gabba Gabba animation + Superjail + a ton of adorably cute things (a warehouse full of kittens?) all with an attitude problem, which is an awesome combination. I usually quite opposed to food with faces, but Tuesday pulls it off very well.  I love her subdued color palettes, too.

Tuesday also runs (along with Meg Lewis) a relatively new site called Studio Sweet Studio, which features artists, illustrators, and designers, the work they do, as well as their workspaces, which I find very interesting. It’s like traveling around the world, meeting super-talented people, asking them questions, and seeing where they do their work. Pretty neat if you ask me.  They also feature the process from multiple designers’ pieces, how-tos, and ideas, which are essentially highlighting a certain finished piece, which could be a typeface, printed poster, or a pair of earrings.

Absolutely delightful stuff, Tuesday!
